Historical Stone Town Tour

Duration: From 3 Hours.

Stone town is a wonderful introduction of Zanzibar that gives its visitors the feeling of the rich and diverse cultural heritage. One gets a complete view, history and walk of the Stone Town. Wonderful architecture, sand, narrow alleys and stone ancient built houses where some of houses are over 200 Years old that have Arab and Indian carved wooden doors.

We begin tour at the main City market which was opened in 1904, where vegetables, spices, tropical fruits, and fresh fish from the island are sold. Afterwards we will take a tour to the famous Anglican Church of Christ which was built in 1873 by Bishop Steers on the same site where slaves were being auctioned.

Other sites and highlights on our historical stone town tour are the visit to

  • Sultan’s Palace placed now as a Museum which was Built in the late 1890’s for members of the Royal Sultan’s family.
  • House of Wonders, as a Royal ceremonial function Palace built in 1883.
  • The Africa House Earlier known as English Club.
  • Jamituri Gardens with its dazzling sunset where you can spend time relaxing in the evening leisurely while tasting locally dishes, barbequed sea food and Zanzibar pizza.

ACTIVITIES IN ZANZIBAR

Scuba diving

East of Africa, less than 6 degrees from the equator, you will come across Zanzibar’s diving destinations amongst the most remarkable in the world. This delightful and miscellaneous aquatic life of Zanzibar’s coast boasts an impressive number of fish species.

The list of wonderful sightings includes Mauritius scorpionfish, weedy scorpionfish, seahorses, pipefish, leaf fish, and a diversity of shrimps and nude branches.

We have regular views of turtles, dolphins, and occasionally during their oceanic migration, humpback whales.

Focus on quality over quantity, and divers can experience the best from Zanzibar’s underwater world. To do this you’ll be in separate groups with divers of the same experience levels, allowing you to have more time to look at the variety of marine life.

Spice Tour (3 Hours)

Duration: From 3 Hours.

It’s a prime focus to give visitors a complete insight as to why this magnificent island is known as “The Spice Island”

Our tour begins with a drive through a wealth of greenery in the countryside smelling, seeing, and tasting various mouth-watering tropical seasonal fruits such as green coconut juice, durian, jack fruit, pineapple, banana, love apple, litchi, soursop, etc.

Spices such as cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, turmeric, vanilla, black pepper, and nutmeg are as exotic as the flavor, etc.

A full tour comprises much more than spices, and you will also have a chance to see the heena bush, ylang-ylang, iodine plant, lipstick tree, and coffee and cocoa trees.

The tour also includes a visit to

  • Kidichi Persian Baths built by Seyyid Said bin Sultan in 1850 special for his Persian wife Princess Sheherezade a granddaughter of the Shah from Persia.
  • Maruhubi Palace Remains which was built by Seyyid Barghash third Sultan of Zanzibar for his concubines.
  • Dr. Livingstone’s House was built for Sultan Majid in 1860. Dr. David Livingstone lived here before beginning his last journey to the mainland interior.

Jozani Forest Tour (3 hours)

Duration: From 3 Hours.

Jozani Forest lies 35kms South East of Zanzibar Town with an area covering 35 km around 1,000 hectares, and the only remaining natural forest in Unguja island where back in the day you could come across antelopes and leopards.

Currently, Jozani forest is a home for the Blue Sykes and Red Colobus Monkeys.

The Red Colobus monkey is a rare and endangered species on this planet. The Red Colobus monkeys found in Jozani Forest are friendly and love to be photographed up close and can be viewed at close quarters with the help of your guide.

Other exciting features in this natural forest include the mangrove forest, coastal evergreen bushland, groundwater forest, and saline grassland.
