Mwalimu J.K.Nyerere FAMOUS QUOTE ABOUT MT KILIMANJARO

Mwalimu J.K.Nyerere Tanzania’s father of nation says on 22nd October 1959, and we quote “We, the people of Tanganyika, would like to light a candle and put it on the top of Mount Kilimanjaro which would shine beyond our borders giving hope where there was despair, love where there was hate and dignity where there was before only humiliation.”

When to climb Mount Kilimanjaro

The best month for trekking Mount Kilimanjaro is January, February, and September when the weather is a little bit warmer, the skies are clearer, and the likelihood of rain is less. June, July, and August are also the best climbing time but with close consideration of the mountain weather, it tends to be very cold as this is the beginning of the ‘winter’ season in Tanzania.

During rainy seasons which occur from March through early June and November or December here in Tanzania, especially Kilimanjaro region are very demanding and challenging times to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, however, it is still possible with proper preparation and following instructions and recommendations from a professional guide.

The prime time to ascend to Kilimanjaro summit is in the course of the full moon, as the night brightness helps to improve trail visibility and the moon above our heads makes a spectacular and breath-taking moment as you stand atop Mount Kilimanjaro peak and The Roof of Africa.
