4 Days Tanzania Safari Itinerary

Arrival

Pick up from Arusha city or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transfer to Arusha, the famous gateway to northern zone safari adventures. You will spend the night at the hotel in Arusha (BB), where all next-day safari briefings will take place and final preparation to embark on the journey to Tanzania’s best wildlife adventure.

Day 1: Transfer from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

After a morning breakfast and briefing, you’ll depart from your hotel in Arusha and be transferred to Lake Manyara national park, which takes up to two hours and a half covering around 130 km to arrive at Lake Manyara all the way passing through amazing landscapes and vibrant African villages.

We arrive in time for an afternoon lunch at the lodge and soon after lunch, we will head into the Lake Manyara for a game drive. This Lake Manyara national park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically placed wildlife areas, comprises of an enormous but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park), positioned below the Great East African Rift Valley’s western escarpment.

The park’s diverse habitat brings in a wide range of animals, together with one of Africa’s largest concentrations of enormous elephants, also you will come across Lake Manyara’s exceptional tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of pink flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake.

Day 2: Drive from Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park

Driving from Lake Manyara to Serengeti national park we will be passing through a crater rim and with its enormous landscape.

Distance covers up to 6 hours with approximately 205 km to reach one of African wonders the Serengeti national park with its dramatic wildlife adventure including a well-famed wildebeest annual migration

We will arrive in time to enjoy an early afternoon lunch and later followed by a Serengeti National Park game drive going deep into the migration corridor.

With its savannah plains, and creature-filled landscape in the afternoon, the legendary Serengeti typifies the dream of “Old Africa.” A large pride of lions lounge in the long grasses, and an abundant number of elephants, monkeys, eland, gazelles, giraffes, and the whole range of wildlife can be seen at the park in overwhelming numbers.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at the public campsite, hotel, or lodge based on arrangements made before the safari, as per the standard and type of accommodation option asked for.

Day 3: Serengeti Plains to Ngorongoro crater

The distance from Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area is 145 km, and the journey should take at most 4 hours.

You can experience one of the unique adventures by gliding in a Hot Air Balloon over the Serengeti Plains. Floating quietly above the Serengeti gives a unique view while spotting wildlife activities from above and appreciating the fantastic African scenery over small villages and rivers.
After a picnic lunch, you will resume your game drive inside the Ngorongoro crater.

During the drive to Ngorongoro Crater, the guide explains Tanzania’s animals and natural beauty, pointing out different species along the way. Overnight stay will be at the crater rim overlooking a well-shaped part of the great rift valley; overnight stay will be at Ngorongoro Crater Accommodations.

Overnight will be at the public campsite, hotel, or lodge based on the arrangement made before the safari, as per the standard and type of accommodation option asked for.

Day 4: Ngorongoro crater – Arusha

Depart to Arusha from Ngorongoro crater, which covers a distance of 190 km and takes around 4 hours’ drive.
After breakfast, you’ll have your picnic lunch and descend 2000 ft. down to Ngorongoro Crater. We will explore Ngorongoro with its massive and deep volcanic Crater.

Blessed by a year-round water supply and food, Ngorongoro crater supports a vast diversity of wild animals, which comprise eland, zebra, buffalo, herds of wildebeest, giant African elephants, warthog, and hippo, it’s a vast number of predators, which comprises of jackals, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and the ever-elusive leopard.

We will visit Lake Magadi, the shallow alkaline lake located on the southwestern corner, one of many attractions the Crater can offer.

Late afternoon after a game drive, we will head back to Arusha, and you will be dropped at your Lodge, Hotel, or Airport.
